Firstly, make sure you are buying the right product for your hair type. If you have short hair, slender straightening irons are probably ideal. Anyone with thicker, longer hair will prefer larger irons as they find it easier to penetrate densely packed hair. Then again, if you enjoy working on your hair for extended periods, smaller plates offer more precision.
The WS series is a unique design, applied to several paddle and bug models.  It uses three levers, with six bearings, and can be configured easily for dual or single lever operation (dual is standard).  The ends of the levers, carrying the fingerpieces, are detachable from the levers.  To convert from dual to single lever opereation, you simply remove the ends of the two outer levers and re-attach one of them to the middle lever.  The plastic fingerpieces can be attached to either side of the levers, so in dual lever operation there are four possible fingerpiece spacings, and in single lever operation there are two (one or both fingerpieces can be used).

I can't believe Amazon would allow one of their trusted sellers to sell fakes. I received mine today and it took about 5 seconds to realize that it was fake. I could not register it on the ghd website, and I came across the information below to help identify fakes. This straightener did not have a reset button on the plug, and had many more of the 'give-aways' that it was a fake! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER.

* * * Update: After returning the above-described item, I bought a ghd Classic Styler in-person from one of their authorized salon dealers (info at ghd's site). When I went to register the hologram and date codes, the ghd site accepted them on the first try. Also, the second unit I bought HAD country-of-manufacture information on the box and on the date sticker (made in China, which some other comments said isn't legit, that seems to be wrong). My unit labeled made-in-China is the one that registered successfully with ghd. Also my second purchase - from the authorized dealer - had a lot of information printed on the bottom of the box, including a bar code, web info, consumer information phone number, design info and information about the product. The unit I purchased from Amazon had NO printing on the bottom of the otherwise authentic-looking box. Draw your own conclusions. Bottom-line: if you buy a ghd styler here, double and triple-check that your unit is for real.

Curlers – Includes GHD curve tongs which maintain an exact temperature of 185 degrees Celsius, the optimum level for curl formation. Also features safety stands and a "Cool tip" to protect hair as you curl and automatically shuts down after 30 minutes of inactivity as a safety measure. Also includes GHD curve wands which come in a variety of barrel dimensions to create exactly the right shape of curls and can be combined with styling gloves to keep your hands safe as you manipulate your hair.

Referring to the top keys in GHD's line, we're often asked why anyone would want a micrometer for contact adjustment, or a machined ceramic contact insert, or aircraft quality ball bearings.  Experienced operators are extremely particular about the adjustment of their keys.  They demand precise adjustment that is easy to achieve, repeatable, and stable.  The Mitutoyo micrometer makes it possible to adjust contact spacing to within a fraction of a millimeter, and if you have to open the contacts up for cleaning, or insertion of a bug wedge, you can dial right back to where you were with no trial and error.

For those with thick, long hair, there are wide irons available to cover more surface area with less time and effort. Mini irons with narrow plates allow those with short hair to get close to the root, and then there's the standard one-inch width style for everyday use. For those who don't straighten their hair often, ghd curling wands and irons combine the same technology, but with the sole function of creating curls and waves. The classic ghd straightener is black with gold detailing, but there are plenty of limited editions and varying styles out there, from shiny white to blush pink, and even floral patterns to add a bit of pizazz to your beauty routine.
The company regularly runs promotions. For example, as Christmas approaches, many of their devices come with free gifts like heat protect spray as free gifts. When Black Friday arrives make sure you check their listings for big discounts, and visit their pages when Boxing Day comes around as well, as they usually offer generous savings in the New Year’s sales.

The ghd is a strong competitor in the high-end market with a variety of popular features and results for hair. It’s a good idea to spend some time looking at reviews on each ghd hair straightener to find what will suit your hair type most. Each ghd straightener has specific design features targeted at different hair types and lengths. If you’re out for a high-end product, the ghd straightener is definitely one to keep in mind.

If you’re feeling guilty about straightening your hair daily, the ghd platinum styler, with heat resistance protective plates, may be a choice for you. The ghd platinum styler includes ghd’s ‘tri-zone’ technology, which uses three sensors in each plate for consistent heating from root to tip. It also features a wishbone hinge for plate alignment that allows better control for styling. The ghd platinum styler has a sleep mode and universal voltage compatibility. It’s also considered to be a popular option for coloured hair and hair types that are harder to style.
The classic semi-automatic "bug" key with mechanical  contacts and double fingerpieces for a wider grip. The devil is in the details, and GHD's choice of materials, dimensions, and other technical features, results in a bug that has an unusually crisp and precise feel over its entire speed range.  N1FN says it feels a bit like the Speed-X 501. Fingerpieces and weight are packed separately, but easy to install. Dot speed adjustment over the entire range (about 18-32WPM) is a breeze with minimal dot dwell adjustment required.

The Rolls Royce of hair straighteners, ghd is one of the most well-known brands in the business, for its quality products. Its hair straighteners are an investment, and for those who use them often, they're worth it. Ceramic irons with patented heating technology help to reduce hair breakage by up to 50 per cent, and increase shine by up to 20 per cent, whilst allowing you to create all kinds of styles, from classic smoothing and straightening to waves, curls, flicks and more. If cared for correctly, a pair of ghd straighteners will last for decades, if not longer.
