For those with thick, long hair, there are wide irons available to cover more surface area with less time and effort. Mini irons with narrow plates allow those with short hair to get close to the root, and then there's the standard one-inch width style for everyday use. For those who don't straighten their hair often, ghd curling wands and irons combine the same technology, but with the sole function of creating curls and waves. The classic ghd straightener is black with gold detailing, but there are plenty of limited editions and varying styles out there, from shiny white to blush pink, and even floral patterns to add a bit of pizazz to your beauty routine.

The GHD Gold Series – Comes in classic, mini and max varieties. The classic variety is suitable for all hair types, features large gold plates with smoothly contoured edges and a safety mode that switches the plates off after half an hour to prevent accidental burns. Max stylers have larger plates, which will help women with thicker, curlier hair, while the Mini variety comes with slender plates that allow you to style your hair with complete precision.
A note about the photography-- that much chrome is tough to photograph! What may appear to be smears or blotches in the photographs are often reflections, and sometimes diagonal lines result in a jagged or "aliased" appearance. Please rest assured, the base of each GHD chrome key has a superb mirror-finish, at a time when OSHA and EPA restrictions have made good chrome plating almost impossible in the US. Larger upper parts have what GHD calls a "pear" finish which is a flawless satin chrome, much more resistant to fingermarks. The black-based keys are a heavy, durable multi-layer powder-coat which will resist wear and marking for many years. The black-based keys are more expensive than the chrome versions, because the powder-coating process and associated handling are more expensive than electroplating in Japan.
