Good Hair Day, commonly known as ghd, is a manufacturer of hair care products based in Leeds, United Kingdom.[1][2] ghd leads the market for hair straightening irons and is sold in over 50,000 salons worldwide.[3][4] The company was the first hair tool sponsor of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and is endorsed by celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Aniston.[5][6]
In May 2007 a friend asked Gary to fix his wife's GHD 3.1B hair straighteners as Gary has a reputation for being able to fix anything!. Gary took them apart, discovered the thermal fuse had tripped, worked out how to replace the part (there were no spares available back then!) and got them back in action much to his friend's wallet's appreciation. Gary then proceeded to publish his findings on his weblog. That page received such interest that people started sending Gary their GHD's for repair and eventually he decided it was about time GHD Repair had it's very own website - GHD-Repair.co.uk was born! Since then the website has evolved into a business and we now have a full time workshop that offers a GHD repair service and sells spare parts online.
GHD Flight – GHD Flight is a separate part of the company's hair dryer range and has been especially designed for travellers to use. It's extra-lightweight design, protective bag and quick drying properties make it ideal for taking with you on flights and road trips. Small enough to slip into hand luggage, you can even freshen up on long-haul flights with this in your armoury.
The ghd heat protection spray is a must-have if you blow-dry and straighten your hair on a regular basis. The light formula protects your hair against damage without weighing it down - and it smells amazing, too. Get a professional-standard blow dry with a ghd hairdryer, using the innovative cool shot button to set your hairstyle and lock in volume. Finally, the chic carry case and heat resistant mat let you take your straighteners with you wherever you go, for good hair days every day.

That’s the positives. What about criticisms of GHD products? Well, in some cases, GHD straighteners have been reported to experience heating problems and, when you are in a hurry to get to work and need to avoid frizz, it’s incredibly frustrating when your straighteners won’t heat rapidly. However, that’s an issue with individual products, and GHD’s customer service team should be able to sort out a replacement quickly.
Referring to the top keys in GHD's line, we're often asked why anyone would want a micrometer for contact adjustment, or a machined ceramic contact insert, or aircraft quality ball bearings.  Experienced operators are extremely particular about the adjustment of their keys.  They demand precise adjustment that is easy to achieve, repeatable, and stable.  The Mitutoyo micrometer makes it possible to adjust contact spacing to within a fraction of a millimeter, and if you have to open the contacts up for cleaning, or insertion of a bug wedge, you can dial right back to where you were with no trial and error.

A note about the photography-- that much chrome is tough to photograph!  What may appear to be smears or blotches in the photographs are often reflections, and sometimes diagonal lines result in a jagged or "aliased" appearance.  Please rest assured, the base of each GHD chrome key has a superb mirror-finish, at a time when OSHA and EPA restrictions have made good chrome plating almost impossible in the US. Larger upper parts have what GHD calls a "pear" finish which is a flawless satin chrome, much more resistant to fingermarks. The black-based keys are a heavy, durable multi-layer powder-coat which will resist wear and marking for many years.  The black-based keys are more expensive than the chrome versions, because the powder-coating process and associated handling are more expensive than electroplating in Japan.
